  • Allowing our elders age with dignity requires giving them space to congregate and socialize. This will help build relationships and support systems for those who have given so much to our community. Councilor Louijeune co-sponsored a hearing to amplify the need for a senior center in West Roxbury, a neighborhood home to more than 9,000 senior citizens.  LINK 0246

  • Charlestown residents have organized thoughtfully and intentionally to demonstrate their need for the Clougherty Pool to be reopened, after a lengthy closure for repairs. Councilor Louijeune co-sponsored a hearing to discuss the status of the pool update and when residents can anticipate having access to this valuable community resource.  LINK 0170

  • Boston is home to so many rich cultures, identities, and vibrant communities. As Councilor At-Large, Ruthzee gets to celebrate with residents across the city as they recognize their history and heritage.

  • Menstrual products are necessary for half of our population and essential to all menstruating individuals' personal and mental health. Similarly,  the power to decide if, when, and under what circumstances to have a child increases an individual’s opportunities to be healthy, complete their education, and pursue the future they want. As Boston launches a pilot program of vending machines already equipped with menstrual products, and given the urgency to provide birth control and emergency contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancies Councilor Louijeune cosponsored a hearing to discuss vending machines that provide both menstrual products and emergency contraceptives.   • When she was young, the councilor was a ball girl for the Celtics and played basketball for her local Hyde Park team. To honor the legacy of basketball in the city of Boston, Councilor Louijeune co-sponsored a hearing to discuss the ways that the City of Boston can support an application to host the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend.  LINK 0335

  • Making Boston Fun

    1. When the Boston Celtics Made it to the NBA Finals in 2022, the energy was electric. Councilor Louijeune hosted watch parties at a restaurants and bars all over the City with the intention of creating fun, safe, enjoyable environments for residents to come together. 

    2. Skate Night 

  • Working in partnership with the team at public works, Councilor Louijeune’s office has visited many sites across the city, from Mattapan to Charlestown, to address dumpster concerns. This has resulted in multiple properties relocating dumpsters, building corrals to maintain waste, and scheduling multiple pickups to reduce overflowing. To address these concerns, the councilor co-sponsored a hearing to discuss options for a household trash containerization pilot. LINK 1328
